SAHMRI provides work experience as an opportunity for participants to gain an understanding in health and medical research and the transformation of research into health outcomes. The SAHMRI work experience program has been developed for the students to work in a variety of research themes including Heart Health, Cancer, The Hopwood Centre and Nutrition and Metabolism.
In 2018 we are offering a limited number of students from Australian high schools who are currently undertaking Year 11 or Year 12 the opportunity for a work experience placement. You will gain a practical understanding of the different types of work in a research area, which may help you when making your career decisions.
The work experience program will be held during two separate, one week programs in 2018.
Week 1: 25-29 June 2018 (Closed, participants confirmed)
Week 2: 24 - 28 September 2018
Please submit your application ASAP to be considered for both placements. Work experience placements should be arranged as part of your school’s recognised work-experience program.
When applying for work experience, please study the research themes at SAHMRI on our website and consider which groups you would like to visit. After reading about the various research themes at SAHMRI, please prepare:
