Ms Bron Cambareri’s principal role is to assist the Cancer Theme Leader & Deputy Theme Leader in the operations of the Leukaemia Research Group and more generally support the Cancer Theme research activities. Within the Leukaemia Group, this includes assistance with grant preparations and progress reports. She also facilitates collaborative & productive relationships with key government, private sector & industry stakeholders in relation to the research of clinical trials with which the laboratory is involved.
Ms Cambareri is also the Project Manager of the ALL (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia) Flagship for the Australian Genomics Health Alliance (AGHA) Program. This role enables her to help facilitate the management of the Flagship & support the Head of this group, plus the rest of the ALL working group, to improve healthcare outcomes for Australia, through collaborative research.
The preparation and submission of Human Research Ethics (HRE) applications for the many projects in the laboratory is also a large part of Ms Cambareri responsibilities. Included in this is the interpretation of Governance criteria required for the different grants & Institutions involved. This involves liaising with the SAHMRI Legal Team for development and completion of contracts, MIAs, MTAs, CRAs & other related documents that are required to allow the research to be conducted at SAHMRI.
Along with the Clinical Trials Team, she assists in establishing logistics for the correlative studies requirements for all new trial protocols and liaises with trial coordinators of the participating sites around Australia & New Zealand.
In addition to these main roles, Ms Cambareri is the Health & Safety Representative (HSR) for the Cancer Theme, North. This includes participation in the Health Safety & Wellbeing Committee (HSWC) meetings, BLOG meetings (Business Laboratory Operations Group), overviewing incident reports & completing Workplace / Laboratory Inspections. She is involved in developing and maintaining Risk Assessments for the many procedures in the Cancer Theme & uploading these onto the SAHMRI Intelex system.
