Yanan Wang is an early career scientist with a background in nutrition and microbiome research. Yanan studied for a masters degree in Medical Biotechnology from Wageningen University in the Netherlands, before obtaining her PhD in Human Nutritional Sciences from the University of Manitoba, Canada. Following graduation, Yanan worked at the Khafipour Microbiome Laboratory, conducting microbiome focused human and animal research. She has won several awards, including from the International Association for Cereal Science and Technology (ICC) and Canadian Nutrition Society (CNS) for cereal fibre and cardiovascular disease research. Yanan’s work at SAHMRI focuses on using nutritional interventions to improve health through microbe-mediated processes.
