Sha Liu comes from China. She attended the China Medical University, where she received her Medicine degree in 2009. She then went on to collect her Msc from the University of Leicester, UK, 2011.Her senior essay topic was “Investigate the functional roles of Nek7 and Nek9 proteins in mitosis”.Prior to her arrival in SAHMRI, she worked at department ofRadiation and Cellular Oncology, University of Chicago, IL, USA,as a research assistant. Sha Liu moved to Adelaide with her two golden retrievers at the beginning of January 2014. She was recently awarded Statewide Super Research Scholarship to support her PhD study at SAHMRI.
Sha Liu has found a special interest in depression and mental health treatment. She is examining the neurobiological function of newly identified pharmacogenomics targets.
Project Title: Evaluation of novel genetic and pharmacogenetic targets in depression.
