Emma completed two undergraduate degrees concurrently, majoring in physiology, pharmacology, Japanese studies and German studies. Following this, she undertook a year of Honours study within the SAHMRI Mind and Brain Theme, completing a thesis entitled “Correlation of specific childhood trauma types with DSM-5 diagnostic criteria for Major Depressive Disorder” and earning a First Class result.
After completing Honours, Emma remained in the theme to undertake a PhD, registered with the University of Adelaide.
